Wrike
Configurable work management for enterprise, agency and PMO teams
Wrike is a project management tool for Enterprise and Agencies, offered as freemium ($10/mo). Founded in United States in 2006. Popular alternatives include Zoho Projects, Teamwork.com.
About Wrike
Wrike is a work and project management platform founded in 2006 by Andrew Filev and headquartered in San Diego. Citrix bought it in 2021, it became independent again in 2022 and changed ownership in 2023. In 2025 it acquired Klaxoon, the French visual collaboration company, and in 2026 it announced AI agents, a Wrike MCP server and native whiteboards. It reports 20,000+ customer organisations and is a four-time Gartner Leader.
Wrike's strength is structure: tasks can live in several projects at once through cross-tagging, custom item types and workflows model different departments, and request forms, blueprints and automation standardise intake. Gantt charts, workload and capacity planning, budgeting, online proofing for creative assets, and real-time dashboards round it out, with 400+ integrations. Plans run from Free to Team and Business, then quote-only Pinnacle and Apex, which add resource planning, financials, BI, whiteboards and the Wrike Integrate and two-way sync tools.
It fits PMOs, marketing and creative agencies, and professional services firms with many concurrent projects and approval steps. Asana and monday.com are easier to adopt for lighter team work, Smartsheet suits spreadsheet-minded PMOs, and ClickUp is cheaper but less governed. Wrike's flexibility has a learning curve and needs an admin to configure well.
Buying tip: current prices apply to purchases from 21 January 2026, Business and higher tiers are annual-only, and seats are sold in packs of 5, 10 or 25. Size seat packs carefully so you do not pay for empty licences.
