Willow
AI voice dictation and writing agent that works in any app
Willow is a personal productivity tool for Freelancers and Small businesses, offered as freemium ($15/mo). Founded in United States in 2025. Popular alternatives include Microsoft Excel, Miro, Beam.
About Willow
Willow is an AI voice dictation app from Willow Care, Inc., a San Francisco startup founded in 2025 by CEO Allan Guo and Lawrence Liu that went through Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch. You hold a hotkey and speak in any text field on Mac, Windows or iPhone, and Willow types clean text, removing filler words, fixing punctuation and formatting for the app you are in.
Dictation covers 100+ languages with switching, an auto-learning dictionary for names and jargon, saved phrase shortcuts, a whisper mode and an offline on-device mode. Scribe goes further: you describe what you want and it drafts the email, reply or doc in your style, or rewrites highlighted text in place. Knowledge brings in writing preferences you have saved in other AI tools. Basic is free with the lighter Frontier Mini model and 20 Scribe uses a week, Pro adds the Frontier Pro model and unlimited Scribe, and Business adds enforced zero data retention, HIPAA and admin controls.
It fits people who write a lot of email, Slack and AI prompts. Built-in OS dictation is free but does not rewrite text in your style, while Grammarly and Wordtune polish what you type rather than replace typing. Android is still marked coming soon.
On October 19, 2026 Willow launched Wally by Willow on Product Hunt and placed #6 of the day. Wally is a voice or text chat agent that drafts and iterates on messages, learns your style per app from your edits, and is free for all users. Buying tip: annual billing cuts Pro from $15 to $12 a month, and students, educators, nonprofits and veterans can apply for a discount.
