Perculus

Turkish virtual classroom for live online lessons and webinars

Perculus is a webinars & events tool for Enterprise and Small businesses, offered as freemium. Founded in Turkey in 2008.

About Perculus

Perculus is a live virtual classroom and webinar platform built for teaching rather than generic meetings. Development started in Istanbul in 2008 under Zafer Gürel, with Cem Atacık among the founders, alongside Advancity, the Turkish distance-learning firm behind the ALMS platform. Perculus raised $400,000 from Boğaziçi Ventures in 2022 and was acquired in March 2025 by Constructor Tech, the Swiss edtech group behind Constructor University.

Instructors get a session planner for agendas, documents and activities, a multi-state whiteboard, breakout rooms, polls, games and achievements that keep students active, attendance tracking, recordings and post-session reports. Participants join from a desktop or mobile browser without installing an app, and sessions range from one-to-one lessons to webinars of around 1,000 people. Licenses are per named instructor (unlimited sessions, one at a time), with a free-forever plan and on-premise or white-label options.

Perculus fits universities, training departments and course providers that need classroom-specific tools such as attendance, activities and LMS-linked sessions. It is weaker as a general meeting tool and has a smaller ecosystem than Zoom, while Livestorm and BigMarker are better for marketing webinars with registration funnels and analytics for lead generation.

Perculus cites 350+ institutions, and acquisition coverage put its instructors above 200,000. Pricing and demo links on perculus.com now point to Constructor Tech's Constructor Groups, so confirm brand, contract and data location before you sign.

Our take

Perculus is a solid, proven choice for live teaching, especially for Turkish institutions already using Advancity's ALMS. Given the move under Constructor Tech, ask for written commitments on roadmap, support and data location, and compare against Zoom or Teams if you mainly need meetings.
