Airmeet
Airmeet is a platform for webinars and virtual, hybrid and in-person events, founded in August 2019 and led by CEO Lalit Mangal, with its engineering roots in Bengaluru. It grew during the 2020 shift to online events, raised a $35M Series B after its Series A, and says more than 4,000 organizations have used it. Its core job is running branded events where attendees do more than watch a stage: they network, visit booths and talk at tables.
The event toolkit covers registration pages, ticketing, a backstage for speakers, multi-track sessions, polls and Q&A, plus Social Lounge tables, Speed Networking, Fluid Space and exhibitor booths. Airstudio handles streaming and recording, and AI tools (Airgenie for summaries and content, Airshots for clips) repurpose sessions afterwards. Pricing is attendee-based: Premium Webinars is self-serve, while Events, Managed Events and the Agency plan are quoted.
Airmeet fits marketing teams, associations and agencies that run recurring webinars plus a few larger community events per year. It is less suited to simple one-off meetings, and Premium Webinars streams at 720p with 1080p as a paid add-on. Livestorm is simpler for browser-only webinars, Zoom Events wins where Zoom is already standard, and Hopin's event product now lives inside RingCentral Events.
Buying tip: plans are billed on actual attendees, not registrations. If attendance exceeds your bundle, extra people are still admitted and billed after the event on a pay-as-you-go basis, so model your show-up rate and pre-buy attendee bundles before a big launch.
Perculus
Perculus is a live virtual classroom and webinar platform built for teaching rather than generic meetings. Development started in Istanbul in 2008 under Zafer Gürel, with Cem Atacık among the founders, alongside Advancity, the Turkish distance-learning firm behind the ALMS platform. Perculus raised $400,000 from Boğaziçi Ventures in 2022 and was acquired in March 2025 by Constructor Tech, the Swiss edtech group behind Constructor University.
Instructors get a session planner for agendas, documents and activities, a multi-state whiteboard, breakout rooms, polls, games and achievements that keep students active, attendance tracking, recordings and post-session reports. Participants join from a desktop or mobile browser without installing an app, and sessions range from one-to-one lessons to webinars of around 1,000 people. Licenses are per named instructor (unlimited sessions, one at a time), with a free-forever plan and on-premise or white-label options.
Perculus fits universities, training departments and course providers that need classroom-specific tools such as attendance, activities and LMS-linked sessions. It is weaker as a general meeting tool and has a smaller ecosystem than Zoom, while Livestorm and BigMarker are better for marketing webinars with registration funnels and analytics for lead generation.
Perculus cites 350+ institutions, and acquisition coverage put its instructors above 200,000. Pricing and demo links on perculus.com now point to Constructor Tech's Constructor Groups, so confirm brand, contract and data location before you sign.
