Scape
AI Mac email client for Gmail that drafts replies from meetings
Scape is a team communication tool for Small businesses and Freelancers, offered as freemium ($20/mo). Based in Sweden, founded in 2024. Popular alternatives include PrivOS, Dadan, Microsoft 365.
About Scape
Scape is an AI email client from a Stockholm startup founded in 2024 by Melvin Hagberg during Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch; Elis Hodzic joined as co-founder in 2025. It raised a $3.2 million seed round in July 2026. The Mac app connects your Gmail accounts, shows only the email that needs attention and prepares replies for you to review and send.
The inbox hides notifications and newsletters, sorts the rest into custom labels, and search can filter by attachment type or filename. Suggested replies use your past emails, calendar, attachments and meeting transcripts. A built-in notetaker records Zoom, Meet, Teams, FaceTime or in-person meetings locally without a bot, in 99 languages, and a chat assistant drafts email and searches past emails, meetings and chats. Free covers unlimited inboxes and meeting recordings, Plus adds automations, higher AI limits and unlimited recordings, Max gives 5x Plus usage, and a Teams tab adds Teams, Pro and Enterprise plans.
It fits founders, salespeople and operators whose work runs through Gmail and calls. Superhuman supports Gmail and Outlook on every platform but has no free plan, Shortwave is an AI Gmail client with web and mobile apps, and Granola is the closer choice if you only want bot-free meeting notes. Scape is Mac-only, Gmail-only and young.
Scape launched on Product Hunt on October 29, 2026 and was #2 on the daily leaderboard when checked late that day; the makers offered a free first month on a paid plan as a launch deal. Buying tip: run a week of real email and calls on the Free plan before paying for Plus.

Scape is one of the more complete AI inboxes for Gmail on Mac, because meetings, calendar and email feed the same drafts. Start on the generous Free plan, and move to Plus only once automations and higher AI limits save you real time.
