Internxt is a file storage & sharing tool for Freelancers, offered as freemium. Founded in Spain in 2020. Popular alternatives include MEGA.
About Internxt
Internxt is a cloud storage service from Valencia, Spain, built around zero-knowledge, end-to-end encryption and open-source client code. Files are encrypted on your device before upload, so the company cannot read them, and the code of its apps is published for independent review.
The product family includes Drive for file storage and sync, Photos for camera roll backup, and Send for sharing large files with expiring links, with desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, mobile apps and a web interface. Internxt is well known for lifetime plans paid once for a fixed amount of storage, alongside monthly and annual subscriptions; the free plan is small and meant for trying the service. Business plans add team management.
Internxt appeals to privacy-conscious individuals in Europe who want EU-based, GDPR-governed storage at a low price and like the idea of open-source clients. It is younger and less polished than the market leaders: sync speed and reliability can vary, collaboration and office editing are limited, and there are fewer integrations. Proton Drive offers a similar privacy model within the wider Proton suite, pCloud also sells lifetime plans with optional client-side encryption, and Sync.com provides zero-knowledge storage from Canada. For team collaboration, Dropbox or Google Drive remain stronger.
