Context.dev
One API for scraping, search, brand data and people search
Context.dev is a developer tools tool for Developers and Small businesses, offered as freemium ($20/mo). Popular alternatives include Hookdeck, Windmill, Cursor.
About Context.dev
Context.dev is a web context API for software and AI agents, from a Y Combinator-backed company that founder and CEO Yahia Bakour started as Brand.dev. Developers call one REST API, or its MCP server, instead of separate scraping, search, logo and enrichment vendors, and get the live web back as Markdown, JSON or structured company and people data.
The API covers Scrape, Map, Crawl, Search, Answers, Parse File, Brand and Styleguide extraction, People and Company search, News, Batches and change Monitors with webhooks. SDKs exist for TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Go and PHP, plus a CLI and agent skill. Everything is billed in shared credits: a basic scrape starts at 1 credit. Free gives 1,000 credits a month, Developer is $20 for 10,000, Pro is $90 for 100,000 and Enterprise is custom.
It fits product teams and agent builders who want one vendor and one bill for web data. Exa is more focused on neural web search, and Apollo sells a people database through a sales app rather than an API-first product. Credit costs vary a lot by endpoint, so mixed workloads take some modelling.
On November 3, 2026 the company launched People Search by Context.dev, which was ranked #10 on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard for that date. It takes a plain-language query, optional country and experience filters, and returns up to 10 profiles per page with role, employer, location, skills and schools; fast mode costs 10 credits and ultra mode 50. Buying tip: test both modes on the Free tier, since empty pages are not charged.

Our take
Context.dev is a sensible default when a product or agent needs several kinds of web data and you would rather not manage four vendors. Map your expected call mix to credits first, because a workload heavy on ultra People Search or Answers burns credits much faster than plain scraping.
