Hookdeck

Event gateway that queues, routes and retries inbound webhooks

Hookdeck is a developer tools tool for Developers and Small businesses, offered as freemium ($39/mo). Based in Canada. Popular alternatives include Context.dev, Windmill, Cursor.

About Hookdeck

Hookdeck is webhook infrastructure from Hookdeck Technologies, a Montreal company whose founders began building it in 2020, led by co-founder and CEO Alexandre Bouchard. Its Event Gateway sits between webhook providers such as Stripe, Shopify or GitHub and your app, so incoming events are verified, queued and delivered even when your endpoint is slow or down.

The gateway verifies signatures, buffers events in durable queues, retries failures with exponential backoff, and lets you filter, route, fan out, deduplicate and transform events with JavaScript. Issues group failures, alerts go to Slack, Teams or PagerDuty, and failed events replay in bulk. A CLI forwards events to localhost, and configs can live in Terraform. Developer is free for 10,000 events a month; Team and Growth add retention, users, SLAs and compliance, with overage from $3 per 100,000 events.

It fits teams whose products depend on third-party webhooks. Svix and Convoy cover similar ground, ngrok only tunnels to localhost, and Pipedream is a workflow runtime where webhooks are one trigger. Hookdeck's open-source Outpost handles the outbound side. Costs rise with volume and throughput above 5 events per second, and SSO and HIPAA need Growth.

On November 3, 2026 Hookdeck launched Hookdeck Inspect, a free webhook tester that needs no account, and it was ranked #9 on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard for that date. Buying tip: start on Developer and estimate monthly events before choosing Team.
