Tower

Desktop Git client for Mac and Windows with undo and PR workflows

Paid · $6Developer tools

Tower is a developer tools tool for Developers and Freelancers, offered as paid ($6/mo). Based in Germany, founded in 2010. Popular alternatives include RunInfra, Cursor, Tiden.

About Tower

Tower is a desktop Git client for macOS and Windows, first released by Germany's fournova Software in 2011 and part of saas.group since 2021. It gives developers and designers Git's full feature set in a visual interface, and the vendor reports more than 100,000 users.

Features include undo for almost any action, single-line staging, interactive rebase, a conflict wizard, Git LFS, worktrees and git-flow. Pull requests work with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure DevOps, and AI Commits draft messages through a locally installed Claude Code or Codex CLI. Plans are billed yearly per user: Basic covers cloud hosting services, Pro adds stacked branches, advanced custom workflows, Graphite support and self-hosted servers, and Enterprise adds SAML SSO.

Tower fits professionals who live in Git all day and want speed with full control. GitHub Desktop and Sourcetree are free but simpler, Fork is sold as a one-time license, and GitKraken also runs on Linux. Tower has no Linux app, no free tier beyond education and non-profit use, and no perpetual license.

On October 25, 2026 the Tower team launched git-flow-next on Product Hunt, where it ranked #5 of the day. It is a free, BSD-licensed Go rewrite of the git-flow CLI, and version 2.1 can start each feature in its own worktree so AI agents can work in parallel. Buying tip: use the 30-day Pro trial to check whether you need Pro features before buying Basic.
