Clayzo
Free animation engine that coding agents use to build motion graphics
Clayzo is a design tools tool for Developers and Creators, offered as free. Popular alternatives include Developer Tools, Zeplin, Magnific (formerly Freepik).
About Clayzo
Clayzo is a free animation engine built for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. You describe the motion you want, the agent writes it as a typed TypeScript animation document, renders frames to check its own work, and ships the result as a video or as a live player on a website or in a Swift app.
One command, npx clayzo@latest init, installs the CLI, the authoring library, a web player and two agent skills, one for authoring and one for shipping. The CLI renders labelled frame sheets in about a second, writes review packets that flag blank frames, clipping and contrast problems, and exports MP4, MOV and WebM with alpha, animated WebP, GIF, SVG or PNG sequences. The core is free for your own sites and apps; building a product on top of Clayzo needs a separate license. Sign-in is required to preview, render, review, package and export.
It suits developers and design-minded teams who already work with an agent and want product animations in code. Remotion also builds video from code but is a React framework you program yourself, while Rive and LottieFiles are visual editors with larger player ecosystems. Clayzo has no visual timeline editor, the SDK is closed source, and its license refers to account entitlements that Clayzo can verify.
Clayzo launched its animation engine on Product Hunt on November 2, 2026 and placed #6 of the day; an earlier Clayzo launch in March 2026 pitched a prototyping tool. Buying tip: use the free WebGL player (about 250 KB) for web heroes and keep CanvasKit for pixel-exact playback.
Key features of Clayzo

- Typed TypeScript animation documents with validation before rendering
- Frame sheets and review packets that flag blank frames, clipping and contrast
- Export to MP4, MOV and WebM with alpha, animated WebP, GIF, SVG and PNG sequence
- Interactivity macros for hover lift, press squash, cursor follow and parallax
- WebGL and CanvasKit web players plus React and Next.js components
- Native Swift package for iOS 16 and macOS 13 using Metal
- CI tokens for automated exports, for example in GitHub Actions
Pros and cons
Pros
- Free to use, with royalty-free distribution of exported media
- Agents can check their own frames instead of shipping blind

- Players make no network requests to Clayzo
Cons
- No visual timeline editor; you work through an agent and code
- Closed-source SDK with a restrictive license
- Account sign-in required for preview, review and export
- Building a product on top of Clayzo needs a separate license
- Very new product with a small user base and few reviews

Our take
Clayzo is a smart way to let a coding agent produce real motion graphics, and the self-review loop and matching export renderer make results dependable. Since it costs nothing today it is easy to try, but treat the closed license, and the separate license needed to build a product on it, as a risk for core work.
