Hyperresearch

Deep research reports with every citation checked against source

Hyperresearch is an AI assistants tool for Developers and Enterprise, offered as open source. Popular alternatives include Cursor, Exa, MiniMax.

About Hyperresearch

Hyperresearch is an agentic deep research service built by Jordan Gibbs that grew out of his MIT-licensed open-source CLI of the same name. You ask a question and get a long, cited report in which each citation is checked against the passage it relies on, and every source is kept in a searchable vault you can query again or export.

Runs read full web pages and call 40+ data APIs directly, including Census, BLS, SEC EDGAR, OpenAlex and PubMed. Each report ships with a verification receipt: per-citation verdicts, quote checks and retraction sweeps. A REST API with webhooks, a citation verification API and a remote MCP server for Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT sit around it. There is no subscription: Light runs cost $9, Deep runs cost $49, and Answers calls are billed per request.

It fits analysts, researchers and developers who need sourced findings rather than quick chat answers. Perplexity is far faster and cheaper for everyday lookups, Exa is a search API that Hyperresearch itself uses, and Genspark covers broader agent tasks. A Deep run takes 3 to 5 hours, reports are written only in English, Chinese, Japanese or Korean, and the benchmark wins it cites are vendor-run.

On November 2, 2026 Hyperresearch launched on Product Hunt and finished #10 of the day. The launch added Answers, an MCP server and API that returns a short answer with exact quotes or says it found nothing. Buying tip: start with the $5 free Answers credit, then add a card so your first $49 Deep run is free.

Our take

Hyperresearch is one of the more rigorous research tools for work where a wrong citation is costly, and pay-per-run pricing keeps occasional use cheap. Use the free credit and free Deep run to judge report quality on your own topic, and treat the benchmark claims as vendor marketing until independent tests appear.
