agentmash
Shared room that warns coding agents before they edit the same file
agentmash is a developer tools tool for Developers and Small businesses, offered as freemium ($20/mo). Popular alternatives include BAND, Pairon, Whereby.
About agentmash
agentmash is a coordination layer for teams whose developers each run AI coding agents, built by a team that includes Damir Iskakov and Alim Dauletbek. Every connected repository gets a shared room, and before an agent edits a file it is told which teammate's agent is changing it, on which branch and why, so it can keep its edit additive instead of creating a merge conflict.
It hooks into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Devin, OpenCode and 13 other agents. Agents can claim paths, teammates can send a prompt to someone else's agent that runs only after the owner approves, and a team chat reaches every agent. A lobby app runs agents side by side on Mac and Windows, and Linux uses the MIT-licensed CLI. The server stores paths, branches and prompt excerpts, not code, unless a room enables diffs. You pay per developer, never per agent.
It fits teams of three or more running several agents on one codebase. Cursor and Claude Code handle single-user agent work well but do not coordinate across machines, and Git only reveals conflicts at merge time. Sign-in is GitHub-only, GitLab needs a committed room config, and the benefit figures on the site are the vendor's own.
agentmash launched on Product Hunt on November 1, 2026 and sat at #6 on the daily leaderboard late on launch day. Buying tip: two developers are free and Team's first month is free, so measure conflicts on a real sprint before paying.
Key features of agentmash
- Pre-edit warnings naming the teammate, branch and task behind a change
- Advisory path claims so agents split work before starting
- Strict mode that blocks edits into a teammate's change until acknowledged
- Prompts sent to a teammate's agent that run only after their approval
- Team chat whose latest messages reach every agent before its next prompt
- Lobby desktop app for Mac and Windows running agents side by side
- Connects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI and 15 more agents
- Self-hosting from a private Docker image on Enterprise
Pros and cons
Pros
- Pricing counts developers only, with unlimited agents
- Free for two developers, and Team's first month is free
- Server does not see code unless a room enables diffs
- Works across many agents, so each developer keeps their own tool
- Hooks fail open, so an outage does not block coding
Cons
- Sign-in requires GitHub; GitLab and Bitbucket need extra setup
- No Linux desktop app, only the CLI
- Continue and Zed get MCP tools only, without live edits in the room
- Productivity figures on the website are the vendor's own benchmarks
- Self-hosting only on the Enterprise plan from $15,000 a year

Common use cases
- 1Preventing merge conflicts when several developers run agents on one repo
- 2Asking a teammate's agent to investigate a bug on their branch
- 3Dividing a feature across agents with path claims
- 4Keeping agents aware of team rules such as a code freeze before a demo
- 5Running mixed agent fleets with Claude Code, Codex and Cursor together
Best for
Engineering teams where several developers run AI coding agents on the same repository at once.
Not ideal for
Solo developers or teams that just need a single coding agent (Cursor) without cross-machine coordination.
Integrations
- Claude Code
- Codex
- Cursor
- GitHub Copilot
- Gemini CLI
- Devin
- OpenCode
- GitHub
Our take
agentmash solves a specific, growing problem: agents on different machines overwriting each other's work. Teams already running several agents per sprint should try the free tier on one busy repository, while solo developers will get little from it.
