Fillout
Fillout is a modern online form builder that stands out for its native, two-way integrations with the databases teams already run their operations in. It writes form submissions directly into Airtable, Notion, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Salesforce and other tools, and, unlike most form builders, it can also prefill and update existing records instead of only creating new rows.
The builder supports multi-page forms with conditional logic, calculations and scoring, quizzes, file uploads, signatures, payments through Stripe and appointment scheduling, plus PDF generation and post-submission workflows. Record pickers let respondents select an existing Airtable or Notion item, and URL parameters prefill fields for personalized links. The free plan includes unlimited forms and a generous monthly response allowance; Starter, Pro and Business plans increase response limits and add branding removal, custom domains, team collaboration and enterprise options.
Fillout fits operations teams, agencies and startups that use Airtable or Notion as a lightweight database and need forms for intake, approvals, client onboarding or record updates. Analytics are still basic, and the template library is smaller than older competitors. Typeform remains stronger for highly branded, one-question-at-a-time conversational experiences; Tally offers the most generous free plan for general-purpose forms; and Jotform has a much larger template catalog and HIPAA-oriented features for regulated industries.
Tally
Tally is a form builder from a small, bootstrapped company in Belgium founded by Marie Martens and Filip Minev. It became popular with indie makers, startups and Notion users because building a form feels like writing a document.
You type questions directly on the page and use slash commands to insert blocks for text, multiple choice, dropdowns, ratings, file uploads, signatures, payments and more. Conditional logic shows or hides questions, calculated fields support quizzes and price quotes, hidden fields and URL parameters pass in data, and partial submissions capture answers from people who drop off. Forms can be embedded, shared as links or shown as pop-ups. Native integrations send responses to Notion, Airtable, Google Sheets, Slack, webhooks, Zapier and Make, and Stripe handles payments. The free plan is unusually generous, with unlimited forms and submissions and almost every feature; Pro removes Tally branding and adds custom domains, custom CSS, team collaboration and partial submissions, while Business adds more team members and verified domains.
Tally fits startups, creators, small teams and anyone who needs good-looking forms without paying per response. Typeform offers a more polished one-question-at-a-time experience at a much higher price, Jotform has a larger set of templates and enterprise features, Google Forms is simpler and free inside Workspace, and Fillout is a close alternative with deeper integrations. Tally's limits are enterprise controls and advanced analytics.
