Plango
Mac security suite that guards your machine from AI coding agents
Plango is a security & identity tool for Developers and Freelancers, offered as paid ($5/mo). Based in United States. Popular alternatives include Invicti, Auth0, Snyk.
About Plango
Plango is a native macOS security suite for developers who run AI coding agents, made by Acrebase, Inc. (doing business as Plango) of Philadelphia, co-founded by Frederic Rohrer and Rich Stureborg. Its job is to stop agents such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex from touching secrets, running dangerous commands or trusting unvetted MCP servers.
An agent guard blocks risky actions, an MCP inventory lists and guards connected servers, and skills and plugins are vetted before agents use them. Plango moves .env secrets into the macOS Keychain, controls agent access to SSH keys, and keeps Finder-tagged folders out of agents' reach. It also scans projects for CVEs, runs an outbound firewall and a phishing guard, audits app permissions and keeps an event log with custom rules. Its security AI runs on-device or with your own API key. There is one plan at $4.99 a month for one Mac.
It suits solo developers and freelancers who let agents work on their own Mac. Snyk covers dependency and code scanning for teams but not local agent behaviour, and Little Snitch is a network firewall without agent awareness. Plango needs Apple silicon, macOS 15 or newer and at least 16 GB of RAM, has no team plan yet, and offers no annual billing.
Plango launched on Product Hunt on October 23, 2026 under the line "Use AI to defend against AI". Buying tip: the 7-day trial needs no card and never converts to paid automatically, so check your hardware against the requirements and test it with your usual agents first.
