fileForensics

Checks files for tampering and AI edits before data is extracted

fileForensics is a security & identity tool for Enterprise and Developers, offered as paid. Popular alternatives include Dynatrace, Invicti, Okta.

About fileForensics

fileForensics is a file integrity product from fileAI, the document automation company behind fileForge, fileLedger and fileShield. It screens claims documents, invoices, statements and other files for signs of editing, AI-generated content, tampering and details that do not add up, before their data is extracted and passed into automated or agentic workflows.

Each file runs through an AI workflow built on an 8-discipline checklist that inspects file integrity, examines its history and tests its internal logic. The output is a pass or flagged status per document, a score for each checklist element and an evidence report with an explainable risk rating, not a single opaque number. It is available through the fileAI platform, a REST API, the developer portal and an MCP server for Claude, Cursor and Codex, with an English and Japanese site, and the final fraud decision stays with a human reviewer. Pricing is outcome-based: fileForensics starts at $0.05 per completed run, technical failures and reruns fileAI caused are not billed, and the rate drops with committed volume.

It fits insurers, lenders, accounting teams and BPOs that process many files and want an audit trail for each one. General extraction tools such as Nanonets read what a document says but do not judge whether to trust it. Volume rates are only quoted.

fileAI launched fileForensics on Product Hunt on November 4, 2026, and it was ranked #8 on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard for that date. Buying tip: use the free sample review or developer sandbox on recent real files before committing to a volume band.

Key features of fileForensics

  • AI review of each file against an 8-discipline integrity checklist
  • Detects editing, tampering and AI-generated content
  • Pass or flagged status per document with element-level scores
  • Evidence report with an explainable risk rating per file
  • Runs before extraction so suspect files never reach automation
  • Access via the fileAI platform, REST API, developer portal and MCP
  • Human-in-the-loop design keeps fraud decisions with reviewers

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Evidence-based findings are easier to audit than a single score
  • Outcome pricing bills only completed runs
  • MCP access lets coding agents add checks to pipelines quickly
  • Free sample review and developer sandbox to test before paying
  • Fits into existing pipelines without re-platforming

Cons

  • Volume pricing is quote-based beyond the starting run price
  • The checklist disciplines are not detailed publicly
  • Geared to regulated enterprises; business pilots go through a demo
  • Does not decide fraud cases; reviewers still make the call

Common use cases

  1. 1Insurers screening claim photos and receipts before adjusters see them
  2. 2Lenders checking bank statements and payslips during onboarding
  3. 3Accounting teams flagging edited invoices before posting
  4. 4Adding an integrity gate to an agentic document pipeline via MCP
  5. 5BPOs producing an auditable trust record for each processed file

Best for

Insurance, lending and finance operations teams that need an auditable fraud signal on every incoming file before automation.

Not ideal for

Teams that only need data extraction from trusted documents (Nanonets).

Integrations

  • Claude
  • Cursor
  • Codex
  • AWS Marketplace
  • REST API

Our take

fileForensics fills a real gap between extraction and decision, and per-run pricing keeps a pilot cheap. Run it on a batch of recent claims or invoices first, and get a written volume quote before wiring it into production.
