CloudKnife

Azure FinOps tool that finds waste and applies approved fixes

CloudKnife is a uptime & monitoring tool for Developers and Small businesses, offered as freemium. Based in Belgium. Popular alternatives include Navige, Polylane, Tessary.

About CloudKnife

CloudKnife is a FinOps platform for Microsoft Azure from CloudKnife BV, based in Ghent, Belgium, and founded by Gilles Uytenhove (CEO), Thomas Rosseel (CTO) and Jonas D'hollander (COO). It measures what each workload actually needs, then rightsizes, schedules or removes what is left over, and carries out the changes you approve. Google Cloud and AWS are marked as coming soon.

The product covers compute, databases, storage and commitments: VM size matches across families, pausing non-production databases, orphaned disks and snapshots, and simulating reservations and savings plans before you buy. Costs can be sliced by application, team or customer, and spend alerts come with a root cause. An opt-in Autopilot follows your policies and IaC guardrails. Pricing scales with monthly Azure spend: Free covers up to €5k, Standard is 1% of spend and Full is 4%, which is €100 and €400 a month at €10k on yearly billing, about 5% less than quarterly.

It fits Azure-heavy companies, especially in the EU, since it is hosted in West Europe and processes data in the EEA. Azure Advisor is free but only lists findings, while Datadog Cloud Cost Management suits teams already on Datadog across several clouds. Azure-only support and spend-based pricing are the main limits.

CloudKnife launched on Product Hunt on October 26, 2026 with the tagline "Cut your cloud bill, not your performance". The team cites one enterprise Azure deployment that saved 27% in three months with 85% of recommendations executed. Buying tip: the Standard plan only previews optimisation, so trial Full for 14 days.

  4. 4Planning the next reservation or savings plan purchase
  5. 5Showing finance which team or customer drives Azure spend

Best for

Azure-centric companies, especially in Europe, that want cost recommendations with evidence and help executing them.

Not ideal for

Teams running mostly on AWS or Google Cloud, or wanting cost data inside an existing observability stack (Datadog).

Integrations

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Virtual Machines
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Azure SQL databases
  • Azure managed disks and snapshots
  • Azure reservations and savings plans

Our take

CloudKnife is a focused choice for Azure shops that are tired of Advisor lists nobody acts on, and the EU hosting will matter to many European buyers. Run the free trial on the Full plan and check that the savings clearly exceed its 4% fee.
