Formbricks
Formbricks is an open-source survey and experience management platform from a Germany-based team, positioned as a privacy-friendly alternative to Qualtrics and Typeform for product feedback. Its focus is in-app and website surveys that appear to the right users at the right moment, plus classic link surveys, available either as a managed cloud or self-hosted on your own infrastructure.
Developers install a JavaScript, React Native or mobile SDK, then product teams define who sees a survey using user attributes, actions and page events, with controls for display frequency and recontact. Question types cover NPS, CSAT, ratings, open text, multiple choice, matrices and file uploads, with logic and hidden fields. Responses flow to a dashboard with filters and summaries and can be sent to Slack, Notion, Airtable, webhooks or Zapier. The community edition is free to self-host; cloud plans add response volume, team features and enterprise options such as SSO.
Formbricks fits product and UX teams that need targeted in-app feedback and care about data residency, including European companies working under GDPR. It is younger than its commercial rivals, the template library and analytics are lighter, and self-hosting means maintaining updates and a database. Typeform is stronger for polished marketing forms and quizzes, Sprig and Hotjar Surveys offer hosted in-app research, and Qualtrics remains the enterprise standard for large experience programs.
Zoho Forms
Zoho Forms is the online form builder in the Zoho suite from Zoho Corporation, the Chennai-based software company that runs more than 50 business apps without outside investors. Its core job is collecting structured data, from contact and order forms to field inspections, and routing each submission to the right people and systems.
The builder offers drag-and-drop fields, conditional logic, prefilled and multi-page forms, branded themes and custom PDFs generated from submissions. Paid plans add payment gateways, approval workflows with multiple levels, task assignment, and reports. The mobile apps can collect submissions offline and sync later, which suits field teams. Plans are priced per organization rather than per user: Free for one user and three forms, Basic for one user with unlimited forms, then Standard, Professional and Premium that add users, submissions and storage, with HIPAA compliance and form encryption on Premium.
Zoho Forms fits SMBs, especially those already on Zoho CRM, Zoho Books or Zoho Creator, plus teams that need approvals and offline data collection on a budget. Jotform has a larger template library and more widgets, Typeform makes more engaging conversational forms, and Google Forms is free but has no payments or approvals. Tally is a strong free option for simple forms.
Buying tip: because plans are priced per organization, Standard at $25 a month on annual billing covers ten users, cheaper than many per-seat form tools. Check the monthly submission caps against your expected volume before choosing a tier.
