Ashby
Ashby is an all-in-one recruiting platform from a San Francisco startup founded in 2018. It combines an applicant tracking system, a candidate CRM with sourcing, automated interview scheduling and a recruiting analytics engine in a single product. Fast-growing technology companies adopted it because it removed the need for separate tools for scheduling (such as GoodTime), sourcing outreach (such as Gem) and reporting.
Hiring teams get structured pipelines with scorecards, approvals for jobs and offers, email sequences to passive candidates, self-scheduling and panel coordination across interviewer calendars, and AI-assisted application review and interview notes. Analytics are the main differentiator: recruiting ops teams can build custom reports on funnel conversion, time to hire, source quality and interviewer load without exporting data. Pricing scales with company size: the Foundations plan for companies up to 100 employees starts at $400 a month, larger tiers are quoted, and advanced analytics, scheduling and CRM capabilities sit in higher tiers.
Ashby fits companies where hiring is continuous and a dedicated recruiting team exists. Configuration takes effort, and the price is hard to justify for a business hiring a handful of roles a year, where Workable, Homerun or Teamtailor are simpler. Against Greenhouse, Ashby offers stronger built-in analytics and scheduling, while Greenhouse has the larger integration marketplace and a longer enterprise track record. Lever is the other common comparison, with similar ATS plus CRM scope but slower recent innovation.
HiBob
HiBob makes Bob, a cloud HR platform for mid-sized companies with distributed or international teams. The company was founded in Tel Aviv in 2015 by Ronni Zehavi and Israel David, opened a US headquarters in New York in 2018, and has offices across Europe, North America and Australia. In September 2026 Salesforce led a $166 million investment in HiBob, reportedly at a valuation of about $3.2 billion.
Bob combines core HR records, org charts, employee self-service, onboarding and offboarding workflows, time and attendance, and analytics with optional modules for performance and goals, compensation (including Mercer benchmarking), hiring, learning, skills and workforce planning. Payroll is handled natively in the UK and US, and through Payroll Hub, which prepares payroll data for local providers, elsewhere. Pricing is quote-based per employee, typically on annual contracts.
Bob fits companies of roughly 50 to a few thousand employees spread across several countries that want a modern, employee-friendly HRIS. It is expensive for very small teams, has no public pricing, and native payroll covers only a few countries. BambooHR is simpler for US-centric SMBs, Personio is strong in Europe, and Rippling goes further into IT and finance automation.
HiBob is pushing into AI: Bob AI answers people questions, an MCP server exposes HR data to AI tools, and a June 2026 Slackbot HCM integration lets employees query HiBob data inside Slack. In Turkey, plan on a local payroll provider alongside Bob.
