Appcircle
Appcircle is a mobile DevOps platform that grew out of Smartface, a mobile development company with roots in Turkey; the two products for mobile CI/CD were announced in 2019. The legal entity is Appcircle Inc. in the US, while much of the engineering is in Istanbul. Its core job is automating how iOS and Android apps are built, signed, tested and shipped, including inside banks and other regulated enterprises.
The platform is split into modules: Build for iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter on Apple Silicon machines; Testing Distribution to send builds to testers by email, QR code or a portal; an Enterprise App Store for in-house apps without MDM; Publish to App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery with approval gates; CodePush for over-the-air React Native updates; and Signing Identities for certificates and keystores. Appcircle AI diagnoses failed builds and offers an MCP server. A free Starter plan covers small projects, and the Corporate plan is quoted per module.
Appcircle fits enterprises that cannot send source code to a public cloud, since it can run on private cloud or fully self-hosted on Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift with SSO and LDAP. Its named customers include Ziraat Teknoloji, Halkbank and Intertech. For small teams, Bitrise and Codemagic are better known, and Firebase App Distribution or Expo cover lighter testing and update needs at lower cost.
The free Starter plan includes 20 builds a month with 30-minute builds, 1,000 CodePush updates and 5 store publishes. Paid Corporate pricing is not public and is billed as an annual license.
Whereby
Whereby is a video meeting service from Oslo, Norway, originally launched as appear.in and spun out of the telecom group Telenor. Its core idea is simplicity: each host gets permanent room links, and guests join in the browser with no downloads or accounts, which makes it popular for client calls, therapy, coaching and tutoring.
Whereby has two product lines. Meetings offers rooms with screen sharing, recording, breakout groups, branding, waiting rooms and integrations with tools such as Miro, Google Docs and YouTube for collaboration inside a call. Whereby Embedded is a video API and SDK that lets developers place rooms inside their own websites and apps for telehealth, education and marketplace use cases, with usage-based pricing. Data handling is designed around GDPR, which appeals to European healthcare and education providers. The free plan includes one room with up to four attendees and 30-minute meetings; Pro and Business add more rooms, larger meetings without a time limit and team features.
Whereby fits small businesses, consultants and platforms that want frictionless browser video or an embeddable video layer without building WebRTC infrastructure. It has fewer features than Zoom or Microsoft Teams and is not built for large webinars. Daily and Vonage offer lower-level video APIs for developers, while Zoom and Google Meet suit general internal meetings.
