AdRoll

AdRoll is a cross-channel advertising platform from NextRoll, the San Francisco company that also runs the B2B account-based marketing product RollWorks. It started as one of the first self-serve retargeting tools and still does that job best: it follows site visitors who did not convert with display and social ads, then brings them back with dynamic product ads that show the exact items they viewed.

Around retargeting, AdRoll adds prospecting audiences, email marketing, audience segmentation and a multi-touch attribution dashboard, so a small team can run display, social and email from one place without managing each network separately. Opening an account and installing the pixel is free; you pay for the media you buy at dynamic CPM rates with no minimum spend, cross-channel attribution and social ads are add-ons, and managed services and ABM packages are quoted by sales. Integrations with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Salesforce make setup quick for online stores.

AdRoll fits SMB and mid-market e-commerce brands and B2B companies that lack an in-house paid media specialist. Experienced media buyers usually get more control and lower costs inside Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads directly, and reporting can overlap or conflict with what those platforms claim. Compared with Criteo, AdRoll is easier for small budgets; compared with running Google and Meta retargeting yourself, it trades some control for convenience and a single view of performance.

Northbeam

Northbeam is a marketing measurement and attribution platform for scaling e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands. It answers a question every growth team faces since iOS privacy changes weakened platform tracking: which channels, campaigns and creatives actually drive new customers and revenue. Northbeam combines first-party pixel data, order data from Shopify and other stores, and spend from ad platforms into one view of performance.

Its multi-touch attribution uses machine learning to assign credit across touchpoints and lets teams switch attribution models and windows, including clicks-only and view-through approaches. MMM+ adds media mix modeling for channels that are hard to track at the click level, such as TV, podcasts and out-of-home, and incrementality insights help separate true lift from conversions that would have happened anyway. Creative analytics compare ad performance, and dashboards report on metrics such as first-time customer ROAS. Pricing scales with ad spend, from a month-to-month Starter plan to custom-quoted Enterprise deals.

Northbeam suits brands spending substantial budgets across many paid channels, with analysts or growth leads who can act on model output. Smaller stores will find it expensive and data-hungry, and new users face a learning curve with models and windows. Triple Whale is the common starting point for Shopify brands wanting all-in-one dashboards, Rockerbox and Measured target similar measurement problems, and Google's open-source Meridian or Meta's Robyn are options for teams building their own MMM.
