Cloud computers for AI agents: sandboxes, desktops and Android phones

Paid · $20Developer tools

Maritime is a developer tools tool for Developers and Small businesses, offered as paid ($20/mo). Popular alternatives include Tower, Vaani AI, Living Brain.

About Maritime

Maritime is a managed cloud that gives each AI agent its own computer. It is a Y Combinator company co-founded by Maria Gorskikh, and it runs every machine as a separate VM with its own disk that sleeps when idle, wakes quickly and bills per second. Developers use it to host agents, run untrusted code and drive apps that have no API.

There are six machine types: persistent Agent Boxes with a /data disk ($1 a month per 2 GB of memory), disposable sandboxes (from $0.011 an hour for 1 vCPU and 2 GB), invite-only swarms for batch jobs, Linux desktops ($0.12/hr), Windows Server 2022 desktops with the license included ($0.18/hr) and Android 15 phones without Google Play ($0.15/hr). Everything runs through one REST API, TypeScript and Python SDKs, a CLI and MCP. Plans cost $20, $100, $500 or $5,000 a month, each fee comes back as usage credit, and plans differ mainly by how many machines can be awake at once.

It fits teams that sell agents to many end users, since machines can be keyed to your own user IDs with per-user spend caps. E2B and Daytona focus on code sandboxes, Browserbase on headless browsers, and Scrapybara on desktops; Maritime bundles all of these on one bill. Windows needs Growth or higher, swarms are invite-only, and unused credit does not roll over.

On November 5, 2026 Maritime made its third Product Hunt launch, pitching cloud computers for any AI agent, and ranked #4 on that day's leaderboard. Buying tip: the 7-day trial caps usage at $20 and excludes Windows, so test Linux workloads first, then upgrade only if you need Windows desktops.

Key features of Maritime

  • Persistent Agent Boxes that sleep when idle and wake in about a second
  • Disposable sandboxes deleted with their disk when the task ends
  • Linux and Windows Server 2022 desktops for computer-use agents
  • Virtual Android 15 phones where agents can install APKs
  • Per-end-user machines with spend policies and usage reporting
  • One REST API, TypeScript and Python SDKs, CLI and MCP for all machines
  • Private networks, warm pools and dedicated hosts as add-ons
  • Migration guides for bots and workers from AWS, Vercel, Fly and others

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Plan fee comes back as usage credit instead of a platform fee
  • Per-second billing, and sleeping machines pay only for disk
  • Sandboxes, desktops and phones on one API key and one invoice
  • Windows license included in the hourly desktop price
  • Human takeover is possible when an agent gets stuck

Cons

  • Windows desktops require the $100 Growth plan or higher
  • Swarms for large batch runs are invite-only
  • Unused monthly credit does not roll over
  • Android phones have no Google Play, so only APKs or web apps
  • Windows desktops take about a minute to wake, unlike Linux machines

Common use cases

  1. 1Hosting a personal assistant or coding agent that keeps its repo between sessions
  2. 2Running untrusted, model-generated code in isolated throwaway machines
  3. 3Letting computer-use agents operate desktop apps such as QuickBooks Desktop
  4. 4Giving each customer of an agent product its own machine with a spend cap
  5. 5Testing mobile web flows on virtual Android phones

Best for

Startups building AI agents that need sandboxes, desktops or phones per user on a single API and bill.

Not ideal for

Teams that only need cheap code sandboxes or headless browsers at large scale (E2B, Daytona, Browserbase).

Integrations

  • REST API (OpenAPI)
  • TypeScript SDK
  • Python SDK
  • MCP
  • Maritime CLI
  • OpenClaw template

Our take

Maritime is worth a trial if your agents need more than a code sandbox, especially Windows or Android, and you want per-user cost tracking built in. Start on Starter for Linux work and move to Growth only when Windows is a must.
