Keywords Everywhere
Keywords Everywhere is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that shows keyword data directly on the pages marketers already use. When you search Google, it displays search volume, cost per click and competition next to the query, along with panels of related and long-tail keywords, and similar overlays appear on YouTube, Amazon, Bing and other sites.
Beyond the search overlay, it offers trend charts, metrics for the URLs ranking on a results page, on-page keyword density and page analysis, YouTube channel and video metrics, backlink data and bulk keyword exports. It is sold on credits: each keyword lookup consumes credits, and plans are bought annually in tiers starting with Bronze, so cost depends on how much data you pull. That makes it far cheaper than a full SEO suite for light use, but harder to budget when every search consumes credits.
The tool suits bloggers, content writers, small business marketers and YouTubers who want quick volume checks while browsing without paying for Ahrefs or Semrush. The data is estimated, credits can run out quickly, and it lacks rank tracking, site audits and deep competitor analysis. Ahrefs and Semrush are the full suites, Ubersuggest is a cheaper all-round tool, and Google Keyword Planner is free for basic volume ranges.
Semrush
Semrush is an online visibility and marketing intelligence platform founded in 2008 by Oleg Shchegolev and Dmitry Melnikov. Headquartered in Boston, it was listed on the New York Stock Exchange from 2021 until Adobe, which announced the deal in late 2025, completed its acquisition in 2026; Semrush now operates as an Adobe company. Semrush started as an SEO tool and now covers search, paid advertising, content, local, social media and competitive research for marketing teams and agencies.
Core SEO tools include Keyword Magic Tool and Keyword Overview, Domain Overview and Organic Research for competitor analysis, Backlink Analytics and Backlink Audit, Site Audit for technical issues, Position Tracking for daily rankings, On Page SEO Checker and SEO Writing Assistant. Advertising Research reveals competitors' paid search, and Traffic Analytics estimates website traffic. Newer features track brand visibility in Google AI Overviews and AI assistants such as ChatGPT. Plans run from a limited Free tier through SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced, plus paid add-on toolkits and extra user seats.
Semrush fits agencies and marketing teams that run SEO and paid search together and want competitive data in one subscription. It is expensive, add-ons and seats raise the total quickly, and the breadth creates a learning curve. Ahrefs is the main rival and is often preferred for backlink data and a cleaner interface, SE Ranking and Mangools are cheaper for smaller teams, and Similarweb is stronger for market-level traffic intelligence.
