BigCommerce

BigCommerce is a hosted e-commerce platform founded in Sydney in 2009 and now based in Austin, Texas. It is a publicly listed company and, in 2025, its parent company renamed itself Commerce while keeping BigCommerce as the platform brand alongside the product feed service Feedonomics and the visual site builder Makeswift. Its pitch against Shopify is openness: no transaction fees on orders through its embedded payment providers, open APIs and strong headless and B2B capabilities.

The platform includes more out of the box than most rivals: product options and variants, faceted search, customer groups and price lists, multi-currency and multi-storefront management. Core, Growth and Scale plans have fixed monthly prices but cap sales (GMV) per tier and charge a small fee on orders through outside payment providers, so a growing store is moved to a higher plan or to Performance, which adds custom pricing and contract terms. Channel Manager connects listings to Amazon, eBay, Google Shopping and social platforms.

BigCommerce suits mid-market brands, B2B wholesalers and companies building a headless storefront with Next.js or a CMS. Beginners usually find Shopify easier, with a larger theme and app ecosystem, while WooCommerce gives more control to teams that want to self-host. For Turkish merchants, local payment, marketplace and e-fatura integrations are thin, so local platforms such as ikas or T-Soft are often more practical.

Ticimax

Ticimax is a Turkish e-commerce infrastructure provider that offers hosted online store software for small, mid-size and larger brands selling in Turkey. Its core job is to give merchants a ready store with the local integrations Turkish e-commerce requires, so they can sell on their own site and on marketplaces from one panel.

The platform includes customizable store themes, product and stock management, campaigns and coupons, and integrations with Turkish payment providers, virtual POS systems and cargo companies. Marketplace integrations with Trendyol, Hepsiburada, n11 and Amazon synchronize products, stock, prices and orders, which is one of the main reasons merchants choose it. Accounting, ERP and e-invoice integrations connect orders to back-office systems, B2B features support dealer sales with special prices and payment terms, and mobile apps for iOS and Android can be added for the store. SEO tools, marketing integrations and reporting round out the package. Packages are listed publicly in Turkish lira and paid yearly, starting at ₺46,000 a year.

Ticimax fits Turkish merchants who sell heavily on marketplaces and want a mature local platform with support in Turkish. It competes mainly with ikas, which appeals to newer brands with a modern interface, İdeasoft, T-Soft and Shopify, which is stronger for international selling but needs extra apps for Turkish payments, cargo and e-invoicing. Merchants should compare total costs, including commission and add-on modules.
