Ideogram
Ideogram is an AI image generator from a Toronto-based company founded by former Google Brain researchers who had worked on text-to-image models. It became known in 2023 for something early image models struggled with: rendering legible, correctly spelled and well-placed text inside images. That makes it a practical tool for posters, logos, thumbnails, packaging mockups, invitations and social graphics.
The Ideogram 3.0 model, released in 2025, improved photorealism, layout and style control, with style references that let you upload images to guide the look. Magic Prompt expands short prompts into detailed ones, Canvas offers an infinite board with Magic Fill for inpainting and Extend for outpainting, and Pro users can generate in bulk from a CSV file. There is also an API for developers. A free plan offers a small weekly credit allowance and public images; Plus, Pro and Team raise monthly credits, add private generation and unlock editing and upload features.
Ideogram fits marketers, small businesses and creators who need images with readable words and do not have a designer at hand. Midjourney still tends to win on artistic aesthetics and mood, while image generation in ChatGPT and Google's Imagen models now compete closely on text rendering. Long passages of text can still contain errors, and free images are public, so sensitive work requires a paid plan. For brand-exact layouts, Canva or a human designer remains more predictable.
Kling AI
Kling AI is a generative video service built and hosted by Kuaishou Technology, the Beijing company behind the Kuaishou short-video app. It launched in June 2024 and has shipped fast since: Kling 1.6 in December 2024, 2.0 and 2.1 in spring 2025, 3.0 in early 2026, and Kling 4.0 on October 15, 2026. Its core job is turning text prompts, images and reference clips into short, cinematic video for ads, social content and pre-visualization.
The web app and mobile apps cover text-to-video, image-to-video, start and end frame control, multi-reference generation (Elements and Omni Reference), lip sync, image generation and editing tools. Kling 4.0 generates up to 30 seconds in a single pass and accepts up to 10 keyframes and up to 15 references (images, videos and subjects). Access is credit-based: a free Basic account plus Standard, Pro, Premier and Ultra subscriptions, with a separate developer API.
Kling fits creators, agencies and marketers who need realistic motion and character consistency at a lower price than most Western rivals. Runway offers stronger editing and team workflows, Pika is simpler for quick social clips, and Krea is a multi-model studio that also offers Kling models.
Buying tip: the low first-month prices ($6.99 on Standard) are promotional and renew at $8.80; annual billing lowers Standard to about $6.60 a month. Subscription credits expire each billing cycle and do not roll over, so pick the tier that matches monthly output rather than peak months.
