DocHub

DocHub is a browser-based PDF editor and e-signature app. Chris Devor, who earlier built the iPhone utility maker Macroplant, launched it in October 2014, and it grew mainly through its Google Workspace Marketplace add-on, which has passed 57 million installs. In July 2022 airSlate acquired DocHub. Its core job is to open a PDF from Drive, Gmail or your computer, edit or fill it, sign it and send it out without installing desktop software.

The editor handles text edits, highlights, drawings, comments, page reordering, merging and splitting. Documents can go to several signers in a set order, with templates and an audit trail. Files can be opened from Google Drive, Gmail and Google Classroom as well as Dropbox, Box and OneDrive. The free plan shares three uses per month across core features; Basic and Pro are low-cost per-user subscriptions, and a Site License covers whole schools or companies.

DocHub fits teachers, freelancers and small teams living in Google Workspace who sign and annotate documents occasionally. It is not a full replacement for Adobe Acrobat when you need advanced PDF production or desktop editing, and its signing workflows are lighter than dedicated e-sign suites. pdfFiller has a bigger form library and signNow focuses on high-volume e-sign workflows and APIs, both from the same parent company.

Buying tip: prices are localised, so European visitors see euros instead of dollars, and annual billing cuts about 25%. Because airSlate owns three overlapping products, compare limits across DocHub, pdfFiller and signNow before you commit.

Yousign (Youtrust)

Yousign is a French electronic signature service founded in Caen in 2013. It is a qualified trust service provider under the EU eIDAS regulation, so it can issue simple, advanced and qualified signatures. In 2026 the company renamed itself Youtrust and widened its scope to digital trust; the website moved to youtrust.com in July 2026, the app migrates gradually through 2027, and existing prices and contracts stay the same.

The web app sends documents for signature with templates, reminders, approvals, SMS authentication, bulk sending and automated forms. Youtrust adds Verify (identity, company and IBAN checks, document fraud detection, watchlist screening) and Seal (electronic seals for documents). There is a free plan with two requests a month, a single-user One plan, per-user Plus and Pro plans and separate API plans. Prices are in euros, excluding VAT.

It suits European SMBs, HR teams, agencies and freelancers who need legally solid signatures at a lower price than DocuSign. DocuSign has more integrations and global reach; Dropbox Sign is a simple US alternative; PandaDoc adds proposals and quotes. Yousign's edge is QES under eIDAS and EU data hosting.

The company reports more than 30,000 customers in Europe and 40 to 50 million euros in revenue, and it is a certified B Corp. A new AI connector built on MCP, in public beta, lets users send and track signature requests from Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral's Vibe. If you need qualified signatures, check the per-QES fee, which starts around 10 euros.
