Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft Copilot is the umbrella name for Microsoft's AI assistants. The free Copilot app runs on Windows, Edge, iOS, Android and the web with chat, image generation and web-grounded answers, while Microsoft 365 Copilot is the paid business add-on that works inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams and is grounded in an organization's emails, files, chats and meetings through Microsoft Graph.

In business tenants it drafts and rewrites documents, analyzes spreadsheets in natural language, builds presentations from existing files, summarizes long email threads and produces Teams meeting recaps with action items, all within existing permissions and enterprise data protection. Copilot Studio lets organizations build custom agents connected to internal systems and data. Packaging is layered: the free consumer Copilot, Copilot inside Microsoft 365 Personal, Family and Premium subscriptions, free Copilot Chat for business users, and the per-user Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

For companies standardized on Microsoft 365 it is the most natural enterprise assistant, but the add-on is expensive, results depend on clean permissions and well-organized SharePoint content, and quality varies between apps. Google Workspace teams will get more from Gemini, and individuals who mainly want a strong general assistant often prefer ChatGPT or Claude. Most organizations run a pilot group, measure real usage and then license only the roles that benefit most.

Genspark

Genspark is an AI agent workspace made by MainFunc, a startup founded in 2023 and based in Palo Alto, led by CEO Eric Jing, a former Baidu executive. It launched in 2024 as an AI search engine that wrote summary pages called Sparkpages, then pivoted in April 2025 to a Super Agent that plans and runs multi-step tasks. Its core job is turning one prompt into a finished deliverable, such as a report, slide deck, spreadsheet or simple website.

The Super Agent routes work across several language, image and video models and calls specialist agents for slides, sheets, docs, web apps, images, video and even AI phone calls. Files land in AI Drive, and connectors reach Gmail, Google Workspace, Slack and Notion, with MCP links for Dropbox, Asana, ClickUp and monday.com. Pricing runs on credits: the free plan refills a small daily allowance, while Plus and Pro add monthly credit pools that do not roll over.

Genspark suits consultants, marketers and solo founders who produce decks and research on deadline. Credit burn is hard to predict, since video and long agent runs eat thousands of credits, and outputs still need fact-checking before they reach a client. Perplexity is better for quick cited answers, ChatGPT is the broader everyday assistant, and Claude writes and edits long documents more carefully.

In July 2026 Genspark released AI Workspace 6.0 with a persistent memory layer and team collaboration features. Paid plans also include core chat and image generation at zero credit cost through December 31, 2026, so judge real costs by the agent tasks you run most.
