Carrd

Carrd is a builder for simple, responsive one-page websites: landing pages, personal profiles, link-in-bio pages, portfolios, waitlists and event pages. It is built and run by a single independent developer, known as AJ, who also created the HTML5 UP template collection, and it has stayed deliberately small and focused for years.

The editor works with sections, containers and elements on a single page, with fine-grained control over typography, spacing and backgrounds, and a library of clean templates. The free plan allows up to three sites on a carrd.co subdomain. Paid plans are billed yearly rather than monthly: Pro Lite removes Carrd branding and unlocks premium carrd.co addresses, Pro Standard adds custom domains with SSL, forms that connect to Mailchimp, Kit, Formspree and other services, plus embeds, widgets such as Stripe and PayPal buttons and Google Analytics, and Pro Plus adds advanced site settings, more sites and the option to download a site's source files. Even the top plan costs less per year than many builders charge per month.

Carrd is ideal for indie makers, freelancers and early-stage startups who need a polished single page in an afternoon. Its limits are structural: there is no CMS, no blog, no real multi-page navigation and no team collaboration, and interactions and animations are basic. When a project needs several pages, Framer and Webflow are the usual next steps; Linktree is simpler for pure link lists, and Squarespace or Wix suit small businesses that want a full site with commerce.

Systeme.io

Systeme.io is an all-in-one online business platform founded in 2018 by French entrepreneur Aurélien Amacker and operated by ITACWT Limited, an Irish company. It bundles sales funnels, email marketing, online courses, a website and blog builder, affiliate management and automation in one account, and the company says it powers more than 500,000 entrepreneurs. Its core job is to let a solo creator or small business sell digital products without stitching together five separate tools.

Funnels come with landing, order and upsell pages, and checkout runs through Stripe or PayPal with no transaction fees from Systeme.io. Email sending is unlimited on every plan, including Free, and courses, communities, evergreen webinars, a booking calendar and a simple CRM pipeline sit alongside. Plans scale by contacts, funnels and courses: Free (2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course), then Startup, Webinar and Unlimited.

It suits coaches, course creators and info-product sellers on a tight budget. Templates and design control are more basic than dedicated builders, email segmentation is simpler than specialist tools and reporting is thin. Kajabi offers a more polished course and community experience at a much higher price, Kit (ConvertKit) is stronger for newsletter-led creators, and Leadpages gives more landing page design control.

Start on the free plan, which never expires and includes one custom domain, then upgrade when you hit the contact cap. Annual billing gives two months free, so Startup costs $170 a year instead of $204.
