Bettermode

Bettermode, formerly known as Tribe, is a customer community platform for SaaS and digital businesses. It lets companies run a branded community on their own domain where customers ask questions, share ideas, follow announcements and join events, and it can be embedded inside a product or help center so members do not have to go somewhere else.

The platform combines discussion spaces and Q&A, a knowledge base, idea and feedback boards with voting, events and member profiles, with a block-based page builder and templates for layout. Integrations with Slack, Zapier and popular CRM and support tools push community activity into the rest of the stack, and SSO keeps one identity across product and community. Pricing is tiered by features and community size, with no free plan but a free trial; higher plans unlock custom domains, branding removal, more admins and advanced integrations, with enterprise options for larger brands.

Bettermode fits product companies that want community to reduce support load, collect feedback and build advocacy. It needs a moderator and a content plan to stay active, and costs rise as a community grows. Circle is better for creators selling courses and memberships, Discourse offers an open-source forum with full control, and enterprise vendors such as Khoros or inSided (now part of Gainsight) target large support organizations.

Mighty Networks

Mighty Networks is a platform for building online communities, courses and paid memberships, founded in Palo Alto by Gina Bianchini, previously co-founder of Ning. Creators, coaches, educators and brands use it to bring discussions, learning and events into one branded space, available on the web and in mobile apps.

A network is organized into spaces that can each contain a feed, a course, events or chat, and members can buy access to individual spaces or bundles with monthly, yearly or one-time payments. Live streaming, event RSVPs and cohort-based courses are built in, and AI features such as People Magic suggest connections between members based on profiles and interests. Self-serve plans scale from Launch through Scale to Growth, with higher tiers adding more advanced features and lower transaction fees; the old entry-level Community plan was dropped in a 2025 restructuring. Mighty Pro is the custom-priced tier that delivers fully branded iOS and Android apps under the customer's own name.

Mighty Networks fits creators and organizations that want community and courses together with strong mobile engagement. Branded apps are expensive, lower plans carry transaction fees, design customization is limited and the interface packs many features that can feel dense. Circle offers more flexible design and a strong admin experience, Skool trades features for simplicity and gamification, and Kajabi bundles community with marketing funnels and email for course businesses. For free chat-style communities, Discord remains the default.
