Anyword
Anyword is an AI copywriting platform for marketing teams, built around predicting which copy will perform before it is published. The company began in 2013 as Keywee, a New York and Tel Aviv startup that optimised social ad campaigns for publishers, and relaunched in March 2021 as Anyword after years of collecting ad performance data. Its core job is generating ads, emails, landing pages and social posts and scoring each variation for likely engagement or conversion.
Every piece of copy gets a Predictive Performance Score from 0 to 100 based on audience, channel and goal, and the editor updates predictions as you edit. Brand Voice stores tone, audiences and guidelines; Blog Wizard drafts long-form posts with a plagiarism check. Business and Enterprise tiers add custom models trained on your past copy, content intelligence against Anyword's A/B test dataset, automated website messaging tests and a Performance API that feeds predictions into your own AI agents. Self-serve plans start at $49 a month with a 7-day trial.
Anyword fits performance marketers and agencies that test lots of ad and email variants and care about conversion more than prose. It is pricier than general AI writers, prediction quotas are tight on lower plans, and the best features sit in custom-priced tiers. Jasper is stronger for brand-wide content operations, Copy.ai for GTM workflows, and ChatGPT alone is cheaper for occasional copy.
Anyword now positions itself as LLM-agnostic: its API and Chrome extension add performance scoring on top of ChatGPT, Gemini and Notion.
QuillBot
QuillBot is a browser-based writing toolkit best known for its AI paraphraser, which rewrites a sentence or paragraph in a chosen tone while keeping the meaning. It was started in 2017 by three University of Illinois computer science students, raised a seed round from Sierra Ventures and GSV in 2020 and was acquired in 2021 by Course Hero, now Learneo, the group that also owns LanguageTool and Scribbr.
Around the paraphraser sit a grammar checker, summarizer, AI detector, AI humanizer, plagiarism checker, citation generator, translator and an AI chat. The free plan caps paraphrasing at 125 words with two modes (Standard and Fluency) and leaves out plagiarism checks. Premium removes the word limit, unlocks the remaining modes such as Formal, Academic, Simple, Creative, Expand, Shorten and a Custom mode, and adds a monthly plagiarism allowance.
QuillBot fits students, non-native English writers and content teams who need to rephrase, shorten or tidy text quickly. It is weaker as a full writing assistant: Grammarly gives deeper style and tone feedback across apps, Wordtune is comparable for rewrites but lighter on study tools, and Jasper is built for marketing copy generation rather than rewording. Universities may also treat heavy paraphrasing as misconduct.
Buying tip: the annual Premium plan works out to about $8.33 a month versus $19.95 month to month, so it only makes sense to pay monthly for a single deadline. Team accounts are quoted per seat with volume discounts, which suits schools and content agencies.
