Adobe Firefly

Adobe Firefly is Adobe's family of generative AI models and the web and mobile app built on them. It launched in beta in March 2023 and Adobe trained its own models on licensed content such as Adobe Stock and on public domain material, which is why it markets Firefly as safe for commercial use. The same models power Generative Fill in Photoshop and AI features in Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Adobe Express.

The Firefly app covers text to image, image editing, text and image to video, speech generation, sound effects, music and audio or video translation, plus Firefly Boards for moodboarding. Next to Adobe's own models it offers partner models such as OpenAI GPT Image, Google Gemini (Nano Banana), FLUX, Runway, Kling, Luma and ElevenLabs. Everyone gets limited free daily generations; paid plans add monthly generative credits for premium features like video, audio and partner models, while standard image features are unlimited.

Firefly fits designers and marketing teams already in Creative Cloud who need brand-safe output and Content Credentials. For pure artistic image quality, Midjourney still leads many comparisons, and Leonardo AI or Krea give more model choice per dollar. Canva is easier for non-designers who mostly need quick social graphics.

Buying tip: credits only matter for premium generations, so a designer making still images can live on Standard, while video work pushes you to Pro Plus or Premium. Firefly Pro also includes full Photoshop on web and mobile. Adobe often runs first-year discounts on Pro Plus and Premium, so check the plans page.

Readymag

Readymag is a browser-based design tool for building websites, editorial longreads, portfolios and presentations without code. It is aimed at designers, so the editor works like a free-form canvas: you place text, images, video and shapes anywhere on the page instead of filling a fixed template grid, with precise control over typography and layout.

Animations, scroll-triggered effects, hover states, embedded media and custom code widgets let projects feel closer to digital magazines than to standard landing pages. Readymag supports custom and web fonts, team collaboration, custom domains, basic SEO settings, forms and a gallery of templates and community projects for inspiration. Mobile layouts are designed separately for each viewport, which gives full control but adds work. A free plan lets you try the editor with limited projects, and paid plans for freelancers, professionals and teams add custom domains, more projects and publishing features.

Readymag fits designers, studios and media teams producing expressive one-off pieces such as brand presentations, campaign microsites, annual reports and portfolios. It is a poor fit for content-heavy sites that need a real CMS, e-commerce or frequent updates by non-designers. Webflow is stronger for structured CMS sites, Framer for fast startup sites with interactions, Tilda for affordable block-based landing pages, and Squarespace for simple business websites.
