Adobe Express
Adobe Express is Adobe's online and mobile design app for quick, template-based content. It launched under that name in December 2021, replacing Adobe Spark, and has since been rebuilt with Firefly generative AI built in. Its core job is letting non-designers make social posts, flyers, presentations and short videos without learning Photoshop.
Express offers a large template library, drag-and-drop editing, one-click quick actions such as background removal and resizing, Firefly text-to-image and generative fill, video editing with captions and animations, brand kits, PDF quick actions, a content scheduler for social channels and real-time collaboration. The free plan includes core tools, 5 GB of storage and limited AI generations. Premium adds premium templates and fonts, 250 generative credits a month, brand kits, one-click resize and video background removal; Firefly Pro bundles Premium with 4,000 credits and Photoshop on web and mobile; Teams adds pooled storage and an admin console.
Express fits teams already paying for Creative Cloud, since it opens Photoshop and Illustrator assets through Creative Cloud Libraries. Canva has a larger template and stock library, a more mature whiteboard and docs suite and stronger team workflows; Figma is a professional interface design tool rather than a template editor. Express can feel less polished than Canva for multi-page documents.
Buying tip: Premium comes with a 30-day free trial, and Express Premium is also included in Creative Cloud Pro, so check whether your team already has access before buying separate seats.
Typefully
Typefully is a writing and scheduling app for text-first social media, launched in 2021 by a small Italian-founded team. It started as a distraction-free editor for X threads and expanded to LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon, aiming to make writing posts as comfortable as writing in a good text editor.
The composer shows how threads and posts will look, splits long text into tweets, supports images, GIFs and video, and saves drafts that can be shared through a link to collect feedback. Scheduling uses a queue with preferred time slots, and posts can be published to several networks at once. AI tools suggest hooks, rewrite or shorten drafts, fix grammar and generate ideas. Analytics show follower growth and post performance for X and LinkedIn, and automation features include auto-retweet and auto-plug, which adds a follow-up post when a post performs well. A free plan offers limited publishing, the annual Creator plan unlocks full scheduling and analytics for one social set, and the Business plan adds collaboration, unlimited users and more social sets.
Typefully suits founders, writers, developers and creators who build an audience with words. It is weaker for visual-first brands, has no full social inbox, and analytics are simpler than enterprise suites. Hypefury offers more automation and monetization tools for X, Taplio is built for LinkedIn creators, and Buffer covers Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest as well.
Support for Bluesky and Threads made Typefully a practical way to post across the newer text networks from one place.
